Dr Steffen Greubel has been Chairman of the Management Board of METRO AG since 1 May 2021 and has been appointed until 30 April 2029.
Before joining METRO, Dr Steffen Greubel worked for the Würth-Group, where he initially started as Executive Vice President in April 2014 and from 2019 was appointed as a Member of the Central Managing Board.
Prior to this, he was Partner at McKinsey & Company’s European Retail & Consumer Goods Practice. Dr Steffen Greubel holds a PhD from University of Magdeburg and studied business administration and economics at the University Witten/Herdecke.

Guillaume Deruyter has been a member of the Management Board of METRO AG since 1 June 2024 and is appointed until 31 May 2027.
From 1 March 2020 to 31 May 2024, Guillaume Deruyter was Executive Vice President Food Service Distribution of METRO AG. Previously, he was Chief Executive Officer of Pro à Pro / METRO FSD France and Chief Financial Officer of METRO Cash & Carry France. Before joining METRO, Guillaume Deruyter held various positions at SMYK Group Poland, Tesco PLC and the Carrefour Group. He graduated from the University of Lille with a Bachelor's degree in Business Law and from ESCO Grenoble Business School & Oxford Brooks University, specialising in Finance and Accounting.

Christiane Giesen has been a member of the Management Board and Labour Director of METRO AG since 15 September 2022 and has been appointed until 31 May 2029.
Christiane Giesen was Chief People & Culture Officer until 31 May 2024. Since 1 June 2024, she has also assumed responsibility for the countries, with the exception of Germany and France. Prior to that, she held various management positions at BP Europe SE/Aral AG since 1998 and was a member of the Management Board of Aral AG from 2020 to 2022. Christiane Giesen graduated with a degree in international business administration from the International Business School, Lippstadt.
