Interns

Do you want to gain some practical experience? Tackle complex challenges? That’s exactly what internships at METRO have to offer. Spend three months or more working on exciting projects. To apply for an internship, you need to be in at least your second semester at university, be able to learn quickly, be good with MS Office, and speak English.

Working students

Do you want to play an active part in the working world and contribute your ideas while you’re at university? We offer motivated students flexible part-time jobs. As a working student you will work independently on exciting projects alongside your studies. The insights you gain into working life will help you decide which career to embark on later.

Final year dissertation

Do you have a good idea for a final year dissertation with a business-related theme? We offer students the option of writing their final year dissertation at METRO. We are open to topic suggestions. The only condition is that you must have completed an internship at METRO.

Dual studies

Would you like to combine on-the-job training at METRO with an academic course? METRO is your partner for dual study courses at a university of cooperative education or university of applied sciences. The perfect way to combine your theoretical knowledge with practical experience, giving you clear advantages and helping you get your career off to a good start. You will of course receive a (training) salary.

Graduates

Have you just graduated? Are you ready to start work? Welcome to METRO. We will support you as you take your first career steps – and beyond. We welcome economics graduates as well as applicants with other academic backgrounds. The most important thing is to be excited about commerce. You should be able to combine theory and practice. And you will always be aware of the customer’s needs.

This is the result of the trendence Young Professional Barometer 2017, a representative study of 18,000 young professionals in Germany conducted annually by the independent consulting and market research company trendence.
